KMC Office Renovation: Building a better centre for newcomers and immigrants

We are excited to announce the start of a significant renovation project of our office at 1313 Queen St. West, made possible by a generous $100,200 Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). This project will allow us to enhance our facility and continue providing essential services in a safer, more functional, and welcoming environment.

"One of the most exciting developments for this year is our upcoming renovation of our Queen's office. This renovation will include repairing and painting the walls, buying chairs, expanding our meeting room, and more. This renovation is for our community because our mission is to serve all of you in the way you deserve", explained Rizza Solis, Executive Director of Kababayan.

Why does a better centre for newcomers and immigrants matter?

Our centre for newcomers and immigrants has always been a hub for the community, offering vital programs and services. However, the space we operate in needed improvements to better meet the evolving needs of our clients. The almost two-month renovation project, which will last until November, focuses on transforming our office by:

  • Enhancing the layout to optimize workflow and create a more comfortable space for staff and clients.

  • Updating equipment to ensure we're using modern, efficient tools that enhance the quality of our services.

  • Addressing potential hazards ensures a safe environment for everyone visiting our facility.

These changes will allow us to serve the diverse and vibrant community that relies on Kababayan for support, resources, and a place to feel connected better.
