Madonna Catholic Secondary School students have achieved an incredible milestone by winning the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) Presentation and securing a $5,000 grant donated to Kababayan Multicultural Centre (KMC). Their dedication to understanding local social issues and advocating for our organization highlights the remarkable impact young people can make in their communities.
On May 31st, the students presented a compelling case advocating for KMC, highlighting the critical social issues we address and our role in supporting seniors and youth. Their winning pitch demonstrated their understanding of local challenges and commitment to driving meaningful change.
Supporting Seniors and Youth from KMC
The grant has already made a tangible difference:
$2,700 was used to fund a coach bus for the Seniors’ Day Niagara trip, creating unforgettable memories for our seniors.
The remaining funds were allocated to essential operating expenses, ensuring our programs and services thrive.
Maria Benaza, one of the student presenters, expressed her excitement:
We’re looking forward to this funding donation for youth and seniors. We learned that they want to put more recreational activities for seniors and group activities for youth.
A Heartfelt Thank You to the Madonna Catholic Secondary School Students
We extend our deepest gratitude to the students who made this possible: Rainsell Aguilar, Kylie Ocampo, Maria Benaza, and Rinoa Nicole Casuga. Their passion and hard work have inspired us all, and their contribution will undoubtedly enhance the lives of many in our community.
A special thank-you goes to our Executive Director, Ms. Rizza Solis, and our Youth Counsellors, Shane Torres and Vince Tangco, who congratulated the students and celebrated this milestone with them.
Together, we make a difference
This grant is more than just funding—it’s a testament to the power of youth to create real change. Thank you, Madonna Catholic Secondary School students, for championing our cause and helping us build a stronger, more connected community.
Your efforts have made a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity and support.
