I came to Canada as a stateless Tibetan, and I filed my claim. With no formal education and knowledge of English (I knew Tibetan and Nepali), everything was confusing and new to me. One of my friends told me about the KMC’s Library Settlement Program at Parkdale Library and I met with a settlement worker who spoke my language and helped me with my permanent residence application. Thank you very much.

I’m 72 years old, retired, and living with no family in Toronto. KMC and the many friends I met through them have become my family here. Activities like trips to the farm, picking apples, going to mass outside of Toronto, and visiting many places in Ontario were both fun and educational. While us seniors belong a different era, KMC makes sure that we are up-to-date with many things and happy. Long live, seniors of Canada!
